The Neighborhood (Rajonas)

A reminiscence, like any other material thing, wears out, and as time goes by, fades away, until it disappears from the memory completely, so every picture I have capture was significant. I believe that with this project, I will at least partially preserve my own memory and that of the local people. We all have our native places and we are all attached to them, so the feeling which I want to convey to the audience should be recognizable/ familiar.

When I take photos, I feel that sometimes I transcend the private boundaries of people, but I wanted to achieve as much closeness as possible. The focus is not only on what is captured in the shot, but what stays behind it. Feeling, emotion, past or simply silence hiding behind the walls of an abandoned building.
